Antique Atlas Steam Vaporizer complete and in the original box with instructions (and pamphlet). This instrument was used in the treatment of coughs, colds, sore throat, asthma, catarrh, hay fever and all other diseases of the respiratory tract.

The directions state to fill the top container about half full of water and then put in a teaspoonful or two of benzoin or other medicine prescribed by a physician. Put a quantity of Alcohol in the bottom container, and light the wick. Within a few minutes the steam will begin to issue from the spout thoroughly medicated and ready to inhale.

Also states that this outfit is also convenient for medicating the air in the sick room. This is an early medical piece and what an exceptional find to still have the original box. The slide-on two-halved box measures 7 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″.
